Shelley’s Family Portrait

I love shooting families year to year and am sometimes completely blown away by how much the kids have grown!  This was definitely the case with Shelley’s kids (including adding baby Beckett!).  Great shooting at their home where their kids have grown up just before they move to their new home…to me, it gives an extra meaning to the photos.

CT Magazine: Douglas Hyland, Director, New Britain Museum of American Art

Recently we traveled down Route 9 to New Britain to meet and photograph Douglas Hyland, the Director of the New Britain Museum of American Art, for the November issue of Connecticut Magazine. It was a pleasure talking with Mr. Hyland and seeing this gem of a museum, which we’d been planning to visit for a long time.  We loved Lisa Hoke’s “Gravity of Color” artwork, a beautiful kaleidoscopic arrangement of thousands of plastic cups dipped in paint alongside vintage paper cups (see our photo below).

If you haven’t been, it’s definitely worth a trip to see the NBMAA—the address is 56 Lexington Street in New Britain CT and website is www.nbmaa.org. And the Museum runs many kids’ classes as well.

Lauren and Mike’s Family Portrait

Great meeting Lauren and Mike’s family and being able to capture the end of fall as the leaves we shot were literally vacuumed up during the photo session!  …and great meeting their kids who actually go to school with Sebbie!

Baby Aiden’s Newborn Shoot

I loved meeting and shooting Amy and Brendan’s beautiful new baby, Aiden, after getting to know them while shooting their wedding at the lovely Hill-Stead Museum a few years ago.  It’s been very rewarding watching (and capturing) the changes of different wedding clients as they become parents…all I can say is…congratulations and welcome to our world!  :)

Cara and Robbie’s wedding at the Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield CT

Cara and Robbie were married on a balmy Halloween night in a beautiful wedding at the Tumble Brook Country Club next door in Bloomfield, Connecticut.  The gorgeous orange and ivory flowers in tall vases were from Lane and Lenge in West Hartford.  Bob Forman and the Original Faze 4 Band played a great eclectic selection of music (including the Sgt. Pepper album during the dinner hour) and the high energy dancing–from the Hora to the Mezinke–continued all night long.

Cara and Robbie (and Fran!), thanks for such a warm welcome…it was great working with you and your families!

Landon’s Beach Portrait Shoot

You would think beach portrait shoots would be done by now, but we actually had a beautiful November morning for this portrait shoot with the lovely Lindsay from Sixpence for Your Shoe Wedding Planning.   It has been such a pleasure watching Landon grow…I can’t believe he is now 2…and is anything sweeter than a little boy in a pea coat?  Great working with you guys as always!
