Love the lake!  Columbia Lake, that is…about a half hour east of Hartford.

That’s where Erin and Lee held their beautifully relaxed tented wedding at Erin’s parents’ lakeside home.  The lake was a perfect backdrop for both the pre-ceremony cocktail hour (with lots of James Taylor playing) and the very emotional ceremony, with Erin and Lee’s custom vows, on the stone patio leading to the dock.  A great couple and really supportive, loving parents, relatives and friends.  It’s so nice to see.

Erin loves bluebirds and their colors inspired the pretty palette of oranges and blues…from the gorgeous ranunculus flowers (courtesy of Erin’s sister) to the dresses, ties and even the Bellinis passed around at cocktail time–and the bottles of Sauvignon Blanc adorned with bluebirds.  Erin and Lee love dogs as well, and their good natured chocolate Lab Gus was looking dapper in his orange tie!  They had many vintage details including a bouquet made entirely of English broaches that Erin found on Etsy.  And Erin’s beautiful unique dress came from a shop in Venice she visited with her sister.

Their wedding had a little of everything…a reading from Plato’s Symposium (Erin’s brother) to a limerick toast (by Lee’s brothers).  There was a photo tent with backdrop and chalk board, put to great use by everyone, and a cool full moon over the lake.  Lastly, we’ve eaten many wedding meals and we must say that Chatterley’s Catering was one of the best ever!  We’ll have to check them out up in New Hartford.

Erin and Lee, enjoy the Vineyard!!  Thanks so much for having us photograph your wedding!

Summer in the City!!

Kimberly and Taso got married last week at the intimate antiques-filled 632 on Hudson in New York City in the West Village on the edge of the Meatpacking District.  A really festive loving wedding with two wonderful families on a very summery night.

Things kicked off in lower Manhattan at the Ritz Carlton in Battery Park, while Taso got dressed nearby at his apartment in Battery Park City overlooking the Hudson and the Statue of Liberty.  Then off to the ceremony….632 on Hudson is a four story 1847 townhouse with tons of texture and light streaming into the 40-foot atrium from above.  Lots of nooks for cocktails & conversation…and there’s a beautiful roof garden up top.

Post ceremony Jane and the bridal party went into the Meatpacking District for a really fun and colorful photo shoot.  Late in the night several generations of sorority sisters from Alpha Kappa Alpha serenaded
Kimberly and Taso on the dance floor–very sweet.

Alongside the antiques were nice photos of Kimberly and Taso and their parents, warming the mood.  It was great working with Annie from Daughter of Design wedding planners and Adam their videographer who works with the Clinton Foundation.  Great food from Marcey Braunstein Catering, and the acoustic guitar duo of Eduardo Garcia and Marcelo fit the mood so well.

Have to mention the shoes…love Kimberly’s Manolos for the ceremony and the J.Crew flip flops but our faves are the pink Christian Louboutins…very sassy.

Kimberly and Taso, thanks so much for having us photograph your wedding!  Enjoy the Amalfi Coast!
