Jane and Mike Shauck photograph weddings in an intimate and authentic documentary style to capture their clients’ true personalities in beautiful ways. They focus on the “real life” of a wedding, highlighting the connections between people to tell an emotional story. Jane and Mike are known for being easy to work with, treating clients in a caring and professional way.
Commercial work includes shooting photojournalistic portraits of the 2011 New York Mets, documenting the making of Michael Jackson’s final tour outfits, photographing Swarovski’s chandeliers for the 50th anniversary of Lincoln Center, and covering TIME’s 100 Most Influential People Gala for Time Inc. In 2011, they were published in O, The Oprah Magazine, Real Simple Weddings, and Forbes among others.
Jane was born outside London and moved to Kansas City when she was five. This early experience still helps her connect quickly with people and capture their essence in a photograph. Jane made her way to New England to pursue an MBA at Boston College and after a decade in the corporate world went back to school for photography, launching IRIS Photography in 2004. Jane loves travel, her book group, Blondie and her boys…Sebbie, Jude, Mike and Rupert.
Mike also comes from the corporate world with an MBA. He’s always been a news junkie and his love of photojournalism comes through in his photography. Weddings combine all his passions–travel, cultures, food, wine…and Jane. Mike’s a Connecticut native and Colby College alum.
Jane and Mike live in West Hartford, Connecticut with their two little boys, Sebbie and Jude, and their yellow Lab, Rupert.
